Description

Moais of Rapa Nui

People think Moais are the gods of the Rapa Nui culture. Rapa Nui people don’t believe in a god, but they do believe and tribute their ancestors and their spirits. The Moias are over sacred tombs of their leaders, and each of them is unique as are made as their resemblance in life. All the Moais were set up around the sea side of the island, looking into the island, as a protection. The only the Seven Moais look to the sea, to the direction where the first explorers came along with their leader Hotu Matua.
